Evaluation of Aural Rehabilitation

Evaluation of Aural Rehabilitation includes patient history, Abbreviated Profile of Hearing Aid Benefit (APHAB), and Client Oriented Scale of Improvement (COSI). The entire evaluation is very important as it provides a complete understanding of the difficulties the patient may be having, allows the patient’s needs to be documented, yields appropriate goals, and helps measure improvements in hearing ability.

Thorough evaluation allows an individualized plan to be set for each patient’s personal needs.

Different methods are used for evaluating children. The hearing needs and goals of children are likely to be much more complex than those of adults, making it much more difficult to use standard APHAB and COSI scales. Advanced Hearing Group uses the Client Oriented Scale of Improvement for Children (COSI-C) to help the specific and specialized needs of our pediatric Patients.
